Rebuilding MB

As we all know the Manhattan Beach community has been decimated by Hurricane Sandy and most of the residents with families, especially those without young children evacuated their homes; a few never left or have just returned, and all are struggling to find a sense of normalcy in their daily lives having lost all or most of the personal possessions in their homes.

In addition to raising funds to pump out the water, clean out the mold, and repair homes we are also making a concerted effort help families temporarily replace the clothing, toys and household appliances they need to move back home and return to school and work.

Therefore we are  publishing a list of things that you can contribute to help the relief efforts.

1: New and used clothes for boys and girls 2-10 years old.

2: Toys for kids of all ages.

3. Canned and fresh food and produce.

4: Baby cribs and Pack N Plays

5: Toddler beds

6: Adult and adolescent beds, high risers, box springs and mattresses

7: Men’s and women’s clothing

The shul basement also suffered severe uninsured losses and we will need contributions of the following items.

2 stoves

2 full size refrigerators

2 refrigerators with freezers

6 dozen folding chairs
