CONGREGATION
SHAAREY TORAH
Located in
Manhattan Beach in Brooklyn, New York, Congregation Shaarey Torah, affectionately known
as The Shtieble, is a growing
Orthodox congregation with deep roots in the community.
Founded in
the late 1950’s by Rabbi Yisroel Bergstein z'tl, since May of 2000 the shul is
now led and inspired by its Rov and spiritual leader Rabbi Moshe Plutchok,
Shlita,
The Shtieble has
an unwavering commitment to elevating the lives of countless Jews every day.
Beginning in
the morning with a halacha chaburah and three Shacharis minyanim and continuing
throughout the day and night with limud torah in the Yeshiva and Kollel, night
Seder, and numerous shiurim the sounds of Torah and Tefila emanate throughout
the building around the clock.
It is wondrous
to see the diversity here where Ashkenazim, Sefardim, Chassidim and many Balei
Tshuvah blend together in a warm and friendly environment that is a combination
of old-world heimishe, traditional and modern all at the same time.
With several dozens
youngsters, from newborns to 17 years old, we have numerous Shabbos groups,
Avos U'Banim and youth activities programs.
We also have
a large and proud contingent of Russian-American Jews who are active in helping
us in our efforts to be makarev Russian youths and families in the largest
Russian-American Jewish community in the United States.
